Wireless Mesh Chipsets for Smart Environments


Semtech and Virtual Extension deliver wireless mesh (“SeMesh”) network solutions for a wide range of smart environment applications – from smart lighting, to smart metering, home and building automation, wireless sensor networks and wireless alarm and security systems.  These chipsets are based on Semtech's best-in-class ISM-band transceivers and the Virtual Extension high performance VE209S mesh controller.

Ultra-High Transmission Range, High Link Budget SeMesh Chipset
This chipset pairs the SX1231 ISM-band transceiver with the VE209S wireless mesh controller. The ultra-high, +17 dBm RF transmission power of the SX1231 makes this chipset ideal for network applications that need to fully utilize the maximum power allowed by European, North American and other worldwide regulations, as well as for battery-operated devices, or both, all using very few external components.

The SX1231 operates in the 433 MHz, 868 MHz and 915 MHz ISM bands and offers a world-class, 137 dB link budget.

Ultra-Low Power SeMesh Chipset
This chipset pairs Semtech’s SX1211 ISM-band transceiver with Virtual Extension’s VE209S wireless mesh controller to provide an ultra-low power, high-performance solution for building wireless sensing networks, as well as battery-operated devices, or both, all using very few external components.

The SX1211 operates in the 868-870 MHz and 902-928 MHz ISM bands, with an ultra-low, < 3mA receiver (Rx) current consumption – up to 6 times lower than competing devices.
