The EV8000 is a highly integrated system-on-chip (SoC) solution that combines a complete PLC modem including AFE, PHY, MAC and upper layers up to and including IPV6 to offer the entire silicon requirements of a PLC modem in one chip.
The EV8000 offers multi-mode modulation supporting advanced OFDM line coding with proprietary algorithms to enable robust data transmission over power line networks.

  • Complies with the following frequency bands: CENELEC A, B, C, D, FCC, and ARIB
  • Standard and Semtech-Proprietary High-Performance Forward Error Correction (FEC)
  • Integrated hardware AES Engine encryption / decryption accelerator
  • User-configured start & end operating frequency
  • Carrier Sense Multiple Access / Collision Avoidance (CSMA/CA) channel access
  • Automatic Repeat Request (ARQ) to enhance error detection and improve data reliability
  • Supports SPI, I2C, and UART interfaces
  • OTW (Over The Wire) field upgrades
  • Industrial temperature operating range (-40°C to +85°C)
